Do you know you can use your Gmail memory as a mirror hardisk.
Once the setup is completed, you will see a Gmail drive in your My computer. You can drag your files in the folder, and you can actually create new folders as well.
I learn this tip from Vinu123 at ehow.com.
As long you have your computer, and able to connect to the internet, you will be able to access your Gmail drive. I check the properties of my Gmail drive, it shows an allocation of 6.6GB ! Now, that is quite something.
Here is how to do it :
- Get your Gmail drive shell extension here, and choose your download site.
- Once completed, open the zip file and run setup.exe and follow the instruction on the screen
- When the installation is completed, go to your My Computer and you should be able to see your Gmail drive now.
- Double click the file, and log in with your Gmail account no.
- Now you can start to drag and drop your files
One word of caution, each time you drop a file, an email will be send to your Gmail.
From my experience, if you delete the email, your file will also be deleted. So, do not delete that email. What I usually do is, to label those emails as My backup files, so that it will be easy to sort my Gmail inbox.
If you think this tip is cool, why don`t you share it with your friends and let them share the benefit.
